MDA's classes are designed to foster a love of dance from the beginner student all the way through to the pre-professional. With classes available for ages ranging from toddler to adult, our highly trained staff is committed to offering a fun, nurturing environment for all students to learn and excel.
MdaMinis is MDA’s Preschool Program. The program aims to instill a love of dance at a young age. Dancers learn the foundations of dance and/or acrobatics in a nurturing and fun environment. Technique, flexibility, coordination, and body awareness are taught through creativity and imagination. Through dance, students will build character and new skill sets, including group work, individual expression, and positive competition. Our early dance curriculum encourages our youngest students to develop an awareness of relationships, sociality, and leadership.
Tutus, Tappers, and Tails forms the foundations of dance and develops the basic skills of Ballet and Tap. Dancers will begin to understand a broad range of technique with an emphasis on correct alignment and placement. Young girls and boys will start along the path to flourishing dancers!
Tiny Tumblers builds the foundation of strength and flexibility your dancer needs to properly perform acrobatic skills. Students will work at their own pace to develop and improve skills such as splits, backbends, forward rolls, cartwheels, and more!
Does your dancer have a TON of energy? If so, this is the class for them! Class begins with HIP HOP where dancers learn innovative steps and routines to upbeat, age-appropriate, high energy music. The second half of class is an intro to ACROBATICS – tumbling mats are utilized to practice front and back rolls, cartwheels, handstands, and more!
An introduction to the world of creative movement! An excellent choice to build social skills and confidence, release energy, discover talent, and express creativity. An upbeat and energetic class, using current age appropriate music. A great introduction to the world of dance in addition to practicing listening skills, taking direction and adapting to a dance studio environment.
A 6-week "mini-mester" for parent and child. The perfect experience to serve as an introduction to the world of dance and creative movement! An excellent choice to build social & listening skills, release energy, and express creativity. An upbeat and energetic class, using current age appropriate music. A great introduction to the world of dance in addition to practicing taking direction and adapting to a dance studio environment.
Our acro curriculum focuses on a variety of flexibility, tumbling, and balancing skills while encouraging growth of self-confidence and self-discipline. No equipment is used! Students work at their own pace in a structured environment to develop and improve tricks.
Ballet is the art of grace and precision of movement, and our dancers learn the fundamentals of dance through their ballet curriculum. It focuses on overall body alignment and awareness while proper body mechanics are developed.
Pointe intensely focuses on proper alignment and helps students build strength and confidence in this precise technique. Pointe demands an advanced understanding of technique, well-honed physical strength, and enduring commitment.
Musical Theatre provides an opportunity for theatrical dancing that combines the songs of Broadway musicals with the movement of classic Jazz and Contemporary styles. This high-energy class will prepare any dancer for the bright lights of Broadway! In studying contemporary and historical musicals and choreography, dancers will advance both technically and academically.
Jazz provides an upbeat and energetic class using current, age-appropriate music. This curriculum is designed to develop strength, body placement, coordination, musicality, and performance style. Students will focus on proper terminology and technique.
Contemporary is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several different genres, including modern, jazz, lyrical, and classical ballet. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements.
Tap is not only an entertaining and joyous style of dance, but it also transforms the dancer into a percussive instrument! It develops a complex understanding of rhythm, music theory, and body mechanics to “play” their instrument. Tap focuses on strength, memory, quickness, coordination, control, improvisation, rhythm, timing and performance skills.
Hip-Hop uses your own personal rhythm, as well as current dance moves, to create one of the highest energy and most versatile styles of dance. Classes include hip hop, popping, locking, break dancing and more, while using age-appropriate music. Hip hop encourages self-confidence, rhythm, and coordination!
Boys Hip-Hop is a BOYS ONLY CLASS that encourages boys to explore the dance world in a very friendly environment. Our instructor teaches the most current dance steps in the hip hop world. Boys can expect to learn basic freezes, tricks, spins and tutting, as well as a deep understanding of rhythm , all while being in a relaxed atmosphere with some fun music.
This combo curriculum is designed for dancers to explore the expressiveness of lyrical & funkiness of hip hop in one class. It incorporates ‘drop words’, terminology along with movement, and a more structured class atmosphere. Designed to develop strength, body placement, coordination, musicality, and performance style. Focusing on proper terminology and technique. It's the best of both worlds!
This combo curriculum is designed for dancers at the introductory level to explore the theatrical experience of musical theater along with the basics of jazz technique in one class. It develops confidence, self-expression, performance style as well as body placement, coordination, musicality, performance style, proper terminology and jazz technique. Both a fun and educational experience!
